Florida differs from states such as California and New York in having no single statewide reporter licence. Under Rule 2.535 of the Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration, an approved court reporter is one who meets the certification, training, and other qualifications set by the court, and in practice circuits require certification through the National Court Reporters Association, the National Verbatim Reporters Association, or the Florida Court Reporters Association. Requirements are therefore set circuit by circuit, so the applicable rule depends on which judicial circuit your matter sits in.
